Our Undenominational Plea

ad33Since we strive to be the church Jesus purchased with His blood, Acts 20:28; we have no interest in being a part of any denomination. Since none existed in the first century, Jesus’ church cannot be a de- nomination. The unity Jesus prayed for in John 17:21 demanded more than just an “agree to disagree” attitude that is promot- ed by the teaching and practices of man- made doctrines today. In 1 Corinthians 1:10 we read, “Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.” That is hardly descriptive of modem denominationalism. In fact, the very opposite is the case. Our unity is not based upon the writings or doctrines of men, but upon the words of scripture, which is the “word of God,” 1 Thessalonians 2:13. It is obvious from approximately 2,000 years of history that the religious division that prevails in the world today cannot be solved by the wisdom and devices of men. We must go back to the Bible for our doctrine, for our love for each other, our emphasis in life, the organiza- tion of the church, our worship and our evangelizing of the lost. Why not help us in fulfilling that mission? All we are asking is for you to become just a Christian and to help us to praise God, preach Christ, walk in The Way, and serve in The Kingdom.
