Proverbs seems to be written as a father to his son. We know that it was written by Solomon. And, as we read through it we see that he is passing on some advice that he received from his father on parenting, and the relationship between the father and the child.

Children are the same today as they've always been. They are born, innocent, and need to be cared for. Throughout their lives they need to be led and guided in how to live.

They need to be taught in the ways of the Lord.
