Our Leadership

Our church family is guided solely by the teachings of Scripture and remains fully independent from any external organizations or denominations. We seek to function as the body of Christ, with Jesus alone as our Head and ultimate authority (Ephesians 4:12-16). Our leadership is made up of men from the members of our own congregation. Following the Biblical pattern for the overseeing and organization of the work of the church these men oversee the congregation in their various roles.

Elders

Our elders are men who are willing to take on this leadership role and meet the necessary characteristics as described in scriptures such as 1 Timothy 3, serve as elders (also known as pastors) in our local congregation. The elders are responsible for shepherding God’s people with care and faithfulness, guiding the congregation according to biblical truth. These respected shepherds oversee the spiritual life and direction of the Oak Grove church family.

Nathan Cozort, Minister

We also have minister who serves under the elders’ oversight, dedicating focused time and effort to study and teach in order to help the congregation grow in knowledge of God’s word (see 1 Corinthians 9:11-14). While our minister can invest additional hours in the study and work of ministry, we recognize that every member of the church shares in the vital task of sharing the gospel with others and as such we all serve as evangelists in the ministry.

These leaders serve with humility, working alongside the members as we seek to always be pointing others toward Christ. In everything, our goal is to glorify God through Christ.
