God’s Treasure Map

Passage: Psalm 119:105
Service Type:

The Bible is God’s treasure map, and it leads us to heaven. The Bible also has other treasure and leads us to these treasures for how to live our life. Matthew 6:19-21, Heaven is where our treasure should be.

We need to lay up treasure in heaven. We don’t need a special object to understand what to do. God’s word is the lamp that will lead us to the treasure.

The Treasure of the Forgiveness of Sins

Man is incapable in saving himself from our sins. It is our sins that condemns us to spiritual death and ultimately eternal death. We have to follow God’s steps to know how to be saved.

  • Jeremiah 10:23

We can’t accidentally find our way to heaven. We must follow God’s word to be freed from sin.

God sent Jesus into the world to save us from our sin.

  • Luke 19:10

The Bible is the only resource that tells us how the forgiveness of sins can be found.

  • John 8:23
  • John 17:17

We can know and understand the word of God. We can learn from this book how to be freed and remain free from sin.

  • 1 John 1:7-9

We have to walk in the light, where God is, to be cleansed from our sins. The Bible tells us how to be saved.

  • Romans 10:17

We have to hear the word, believe the gospel, confess our belief in Christ, and be baptized by water into Christ Jesus, for the cleansing of our sins.

God’s Treasure Map to Successful Christian Living

Having been washed clean fro our sins, we need to know the pattern which God has given us to live up to his standards, according to the gospel. We aren’t immune to sin as a Christian

  • 1 Corinthians 5:1

There was sin in the Corinthian church. We too can be found in sin, we do not give attention to God’s word. As Christians we must be diligent to abstain from evil, and every appearance of evil.

  • 1 Thessalonians 5:22

To become spiritually stronger we have to give attention to God’s word.

  • 1 Peter 2:2

We must be willing to grow, through study of God’s word, that we may grow.  Stay focused on god’s word, read it, study, meditate on it.

We need to practice sacrificial living.

  • Romans 12:1,2

We need to sacrifice what we want in favor of God’s word, and to do what He wants, making ourselves a sacrifice holy and acceptable.

God’s Treasure Map to Christian Worship

There is great joy in coming to worship in spirit and in truth.  Man’s preference of worshiping can lead to personal preference rather than in God’s desire.

  • Hebrews 11:4

By faith, Abel offered a more excellent sacrifice. God was pleased with Abel's offering and not Cain's.

  • Leviticus 10:1,2

They did not do the worship according to God’s word. We see what god thinks about false worship. Anything done apart from God;s word is vain worship and thus, not pleasing to God.

  • Matthew 15:9

When we add to god’s word for worship we stray.

  • John, 4:24

We must worship in spirit, with the right attitude of the heart. by faith, having the right attitude, and also in truth according to God’s word.

  • 2 Corinthians 9:7
  • 1 Corinthians 14:15

The Bible is God’s Treasure map to a Happy Christian Family

God created the family. He gave regulations for the family. Assigned roles to the husband and wife.

  • Ephesians 5:22-24

These are complementary roles. The husband is to love the wife, sacrificially.

Parents and Children have God-given Roles

  • Ephesians 6:1-4

Obey parents in the Lord, for this is right. Fathers provoke not, but brig up.

Every member of the family has important roles to play, and when we pattern our family after following God’s instruction for the home, we are more likely to have a happy, peaceful, family.

There will always be problems in life, but we will have the best joyful family when we follow God’s word.

  • Proverbs 5:18

Children, are a joy.

  • Psalm 128:3-5,

Families are a great treasure from God, and when we follow God’s word we will have that happy treasure

  • 1 Corinthians 15:58

God’s Treasure Map to Living Forever with God in Heaven

  • 2 Thessalonians 1:7-9

Every person who does not know God and obey not the gospel will be punished from the presence of the Lord forever.  There is condemnation for those who do not obey the gospel.

But, he left a treasure map for how to find that treasure.

  • John 14:1-3

Christ is at the right hand of God and has left us an ultimate treasure map for obtaining that treasure.

The Bible tells us how to be saved and leads us to forgiveness of sins. And, when we live faithfully all the days of our lives receiving for eternity that great treasure.

To become a member of God's family, to start on the path on the direction that leads to the eternal treasure. You can follow God's treasure map for salvation.
