Service Type:

Psalm 119: 25-32

God gives us strength to the inward man. When we are inwardly near spiritual death, we can want to give up. The Psalmist gives the picture of a man ready to give up, a man on the ground, ready to  die. But he asks to be strengthened by God’sword.

  • Hebrews 4:12
  • Psalm 119:93

Psalm 119:26

The Psalmist reviews his life and lays it before God and expresses confidence that God would hear his prayer and guide Him in the word.

We seek answers for how we live daily. What role does God desire for me in family, work, in the church? Turning to God’s word gives us the answers.

  • 2 Timothy 3:16,17

"All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works."

  • Psalm 119:98-100

"Thou through thy commandments hast made me wiser than mine enemies: for they are ever with me. I have more understanding than all my teachers: for thy testimonies are my meditation. I understand more than the ancients, because I keep thy precepts."

    • Or, do we desire to be removed from temptation?

God’s word Gives Us Confidence

  • Psalm 119:31

God’s word Gives Encouragement

  • Psalm 119:32
  • James 1:25
  • Luke 11:28

God’s word tells us about his love. About his only begotten son, John 3:16. And he tells us through his word how we can have everlasting life. Belief begins in understanding, but we have to take God’s word, make application in our life, by making a change, repentance. We must confess that Jesus is the Son of God. If we are ashamed to confess Him, He will not confess us. And we must be willing to be baptized, having our sins washed away in obedience to His word.
