Passage: Revelation 20:12
Service Type:

There used to be a television show called, "This Is Your Life." The host would present a guest with a variety of photos taking them through their life. There will come a day when we will be before the Lord, and the Lord will open the books and examine your life.

  • Revelation 20:12

If we were looking back through our lives it would start with a white page.

Your Life of Innocence and Purity of Children

Children begin as innocent, pure children. They bear no guilt. Regardless of the doctrine of original sin, which is false.

  • Ezekiel 18:20

There is no inherited sin. The sons of Adam and Eve did not inherit the sin of their parents. They evenetually sinned, but did not bear their parents sin.

  • Ezekiel 28:15

When we sin, when iniquity comes into our lives we are no longer perfect. But, when we are born there is no sin, little children are innocent.

  • Matthew 19:13-14

The nature of the child of God is the same nature as the one who is born in innocence and purity.

Your Life at the Age of Accountability

The next page is a black page. The age of accountability is different for each person, but the age of knowledge of sin comes for each person. And sin enters the lives of every person.

  • Romans 3:23
  • 1 John 1:8, 10

Unaddressed sins lead to separation from God.

  • Romans 6:23

Our life begins with a white page but eventually a black page comes in when we sin and are separated from God.

Your Life in the Blood of Jesus Christ

Next, we can say there is a red page. The page of redemption that comes through the blood of Jesus Christ.

  • Revelation 1:5

Through His blood, Jesus redeems souls from sin.

  • Ephesians 1:7

Our Lord purchased the church with His blood, one soul at a time.

  • Acts 2:47

He purchased the church, Acts 20:28, with His own blood. Consequently, nothing is more prescious than the blood of Christ.

  • 1 Peter 1:18-20

The beautiful things of this world, the precious metals, are still corruptible. We were not redeemed with those corruptible things. But, we were redeemed through the blood of Christ.

According to the Bible, baptism is the way that a soul comes into contact with the blood of Christ. We come into contact with the blood through baptism as we are having our sins washed away.

  • John 19:31-37

The blood and water came out together and in baptism one is placed symbolically into the death of Jesus Christ. Thus, baptism is what brings us into that contact with His blood.

  • Romans 6:3-5

We see from this that baptism in the blood of Christ is essential. The blood of Jesus Christ to save a soul from sin all the elements of salvation must be in place. We must believe that Jesus Christ is the son of God. We have to repent of our sins, and confess that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, and be baptized to have our sins washed away.

Your Life Purged from Past Sins

Once again we return to a white page in the story of our lives, having had our sins purged from past sins.

  • Romans 6:5-6

Sins forgiven by the blood of Christ are forgiven forever. Unlike the annual atonement for sins under Judaism.

  • Hebrews 10:1-4

There was always a remembrance of sins, until Christ came and died for sin and then it was wiped away even for those who were righteous under the Old Law.

  • Hebrews 9:13-14

Our sins are forgiven by the blood of Jesus Christ. Everyone of them are washed away in the blood of Christ. That old man of sin is cleansed and once again like we are at birth

Your Life of Faithfulness and Service

Having a yellow page of faithfulness and service. Like the example of Jesus to be faithful and a live a life of service.

  • 1 Peter 2:21

Like Jesus, we must be willing to be faithful even unto death.

  • Revelation 2:10

This applies two things, to be faithful until the time of my own death. Or, it could be applied unto the point of death. Even if it means to give up one's own life. As Christians we are required to be faithful to the perfect law of liberty.

  • James 1:25-27

The perfect law of liberty, the law of Christ is how we are to continue in our lives. We are to keep ourselves unspotted from the world.

  • Hebrews 5:12-14

The New Testament instructs every Christian to seek out and do good works.

  • Titus 2:14

As Christians we are to live a life of faithful service to God.

Your Life During Sin of Apostasy

The sad thing is we are still human. We still have freewill. And, sometimes, even as Christians, we exercise our freewill to sin. And once again, we face a black page. We face a page of sin in our lives.

  • Acts 8:18-24

He was once more engaged in sin. As a Christian it was once more required of him to be restored to a right relationship with God. That's why he asked Peter to pray for him.

  • 2 Peter 2:20-22

Those who have escaped and become children of God, yet, once again entangled in the pollution of the world. I think the reason why it will be worse for the Christian who turns back to sin, in eternal destruction will look back and remember what he could have had if he had remained a faithful Christian.

  • 2 Peter 1:5-9

We must continue to be faithful, but when we do fall back into sin, into apostacy, but the good news is that the blood of Christ still applies.

Blood of Jesus Christ

The good news is that we can return to that red page, of the blood of Christ. For those who remember their sins, and repent of it, they can return to a right relationship with Christ.

  • 1 John 1:7

Christians who have turned away, and fallen away, can turn back to Christ, in repentance and confession of sins, and God is faithful and just to forgive us our sins.

  • Hebrews 10:26-31

We're thankful that as Christians when we sin, the blood of Jesus Christ will cleanse us from our sins when we are penitent.

Purged from Recent Sins

We are thankful that if we are penitent we can return to that white page.

  • 1 John 1:9

Jesus acts as a defense lawyer before the Father.

  • 1 John 2:1-2

When we sin as a Christian we have a heavenly advocate who defends us with the Father. We have a white page once again.

Your Life of Christian Service and Endurance

We will then have a yellow page of Christian service and endurance. We must live that penitent life and be unmovable in our faith. Like David, no matter what, he always came back to God. HE was considered to be righteous and godly because he always returned to faithful obedience to God.

1 Corinthians 15:58

Jesus Christ is the Savior to those who are obedient to Him.

Hebrews 5:8-9

If we live our live, continue in our Christian service and endurance and are faithful unto death we will be found on the blue page of salvation.

Your Life with Heaven and Eternal Life

  • Matthew 25:46

Heaven and earth are symbolized with the crown of righteousness.

  • 2 Timothy 4:8

Paul had come tot he end of his life, he knew what awaited him. He knew along with the other apostles that what they had endured meant they were going to recieve the great reward.

Matthew 25:34

Your Life with Sin and Death

If we sin and never obey the gospel, the last page of our life will be black. And, that soul will be separated from God eternally.

  • Isaiah 59:1-2

Instead of everlasting life, it will be the everlasting punishment of the soul that is found to be in sin.

  • Matthew 25:46

If hell is not eternal, if everlasting punishment is not eternal, then life is not eternal. You can't have one without the other.

  • Matthew 25:41

This is your life. When we look at the last page of your book, what will be the last page of the book of your lilfe? What will you want to be read in the last day? Enter into the joy of the Lord? Or, depart you worker of iniquity?

Even Christians must ask themselves this question.

Which will be the last page in the book of YOUR life?

  • 2 Corinthians 13:5
  • Revelation 1:5

If you are a Christian, but have been unfaithful you can return to Christ. You can repent of your sins, confess to God and ask for your sins to be cleansed. And, the blood of Christ will continually cleanse you. He is faithful and just to forgive.

If you are not a Christian, you can put on Christ in baptism. You can have your sins washed away. Contact us if you have any need. We are happy to study with you and help you to become a child of God being restored to that pure, innocent, relationship with God.
