Making Plant Medicine Written by Richo Cech, Published by Herbal Reeds. Richo typically signs these for me. Write me to be sure.4th Edition, 2016 printing, Brand New book, 336 pages. Item: The latest edition, classic herbal medicine book, updated and expanded. By spending about $400 on a bunch of these books, I get a wholesale discount from my friends at Herbal Reads in Oregon. I also sell many of their organic seeds as one of their few official resellers. Richo has penned a classic herbal here, sharing his many decades of experience as one of the world’s leading medicinal herbalists, growing many of these plants himself at his organic farm in Oregon, Strictly Medicinal, selling both the seeds and their extracts. Learn how to grow over 100 medicinal plants, what they are used for, and how to turn them into tinctures, salves, oils, teas and herbal poultices, etc. Making Plant Medicine is about making herbal medicine from your home-grown or farm-frown plants. This is a modern medicine making book and herbal formulary, with roots in ancient herbalism. It is designed for every medicinal herb gardener to help cultivate the full potential of the plant-human relationship. Richo Cech tells very good stories based on his experience as a global traveler, organic farmer, renowned herbalist and expert medicine maker. In this fully revised and freshly updated 4th Edition, Richo has enriched his formulary by adding 28 new medicinal herbs, thus providing a broader view of useful plant species that can be cultivated in the home garden and used in family health care. Original, often amusing, and intensely informative. Not a professional writer, but a very knowledgeable herbalist and herb farmer. Part 1: Medicine Making: drying and processing herbs, making tinctures the easy way, the mathematics of tincturing and solubility factors, basic formulas for fresh and dry tinctures including dosages, vinegar extracts, glycerites, herbal syrups, teas, decoctions, herbal oils, salves and creams, poultices, compresses and soaks.Part 2: A Gardener’s Formulary. This section covers well over 100 herbs that can be cultivated in North America. The herbal listings include: conservation status, parts used, specific formulas, practical uses, dosages, contraindications, and an overview of alternate species with similar effects.A must-have in any serious herbal library. Not a beginner’s book, but a real, how-to medicinal herbal. NO DISCOUNTS! My margin on this item is quite low compared to most things I sell. If you ask for a cheaper price, I will ignore you. If I took offers, the listing would say that, but obviously I have to state this in writing: No offers accepted. I already have the lowest price on ebay. Shipping: USPS Media or Priority mail. I will combine shipping whenever possible. Thanks for Looking and Many Blessings!
